Space Cadet: More Than a Clothing Brand

Space Cadet was born from a dream that started long before the first hoodie was ever made.

Ever since I was young, I was always drawn to computers, technology, and digital design. I liked experimenting, creating, and imagining things that did not exist yet. Around the age of 11, I even designed an idea for a flying car. 

The concept used speed to generate air into a compressor, which would then release air from underneath the car to help lift it. Looking back, it was a kid’s idea, but it showed the way my mind worked. I was always thinking about the future, technology, and how far imagination could go.

The idea for Space Cadet first began to take shape around 2020, while I was working in real estate. At the time, I spent a lot of my days around a computer, thinking about how I could make it big in the real estate game and build something greater for myself. Unfortunately, that path did not work out the way I imagined, but during that period I started experimenting more with graphic design.

One of my first design ideas was a superhero sales agent — someone ready to save the day.

I never ended up turning that idea into anything, but looking back, that was one of the first seeds. It was the moment I started seeing graphics, clothing, and storytelling as something I could create myself.

Clothing was also closer to me than I realized. My mother is a tailor, and growing up I would watch her make traditional clothes with a sewing machine. She created pieces by hand, with patience, skill, and care. In a way, making clothes runs in my blood. I just adapted it to my own generation — creating designs online instead of sewing them by hand.

In August 2023, I left my job due to mental health issues. That period of my life was difficult, and there are parts of that story I do not want to go into. But after leaving work, I suddenly had a lot of time on my hands. I was trying to find direction again, and somehow, I found my way back to clothing, design, and the dream I had carried since I was young.

I had always been fascinated by space. As a kid, I dreamed of going there one day. I used to imagine different ways I could make it happen — even ideas like joining the army or navy, becoming a pilot, and working my way up until I could one day drive a spaceship. It was movie stuff, but that was how big my imagination was.

Around that same time, I kept seeing Shopify ads, and it made me start thinking seriously about building something of my own. Then one idea came to me clearly:

What if I created a clothing brand focused on space travel and fashion for the future?

That was the moment everything clicked.

To me, it felt different. It was not something I saw everywhere. It was not just another clothing idea. It felt like a vision — a brand built around the future, ambition, space, technology, and people who dream beyond their surroundings.

On November 3rd, 2023, at 23 years old, I took the first real step and launched Space Cadet through Shopify. I made my first logo, inspired by futuristic space-style typography, and began building the brand from the ground up.

In 2024, Space Cadet became more than just an idea. That was the year the brand was officially trademarked in Australia, marking the moment Space Cadet stepped into its own identity. Even though the brand began in 2023, 2024 represents the year the brand became official, protected, and recognised as Space Cadet in Australia.

For that reason, pieces carry “EST. 2024” as a symbol of the brand’s official beginning — the year Space Cadet became real, not just in my mind, but as a name, a brand, and a movement.

Space Cadet represents exploration, ambition, and the feeling of not fitting into ordinary limits. It is for the people who think differently, dream bigger, and see life beyond what is directly in front of them. It is for the ones who feel connected to something greater — the unknown, the future, the stars, and the possibility of becoming more.

The mission is simple: to create clothes people will wear in space.

Space Cadet is streetwear with a futuristic soul. It blends everyday fashion with the dream of something beyond Earth. From heavyweight hoodies to graphic tees, tracksuits, jerseys, and future collections, every piece is created to feel like part of a journey.
